This is the only conference series in the world devoted to the food and nutrition of Indigenous Peoples. The Fifth Annual Conference on Native American Nutrition will bring together tribal officials, researchers, practitioners, funders, and others to discuss the current state of Indigenous and academic scientific knowledge about Native nutrition, dietary health, and food science, and identify new areas of work.
The theme for the Fifth Annual Conference is “Decolonizing and Indigenizing our Diets for Health.” Join us for sessions on healing from trauma, practical knowledge to return to traditional diets, and Indigenizing nutrition and food policy. Presentations by Sean Sherman (Oglala Lakota), Michael Yellowbird (Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara), Twila Cassadore (San Carlos Apache), Nephi Craig (White Mountain Apache), Latasha Redhouse (Diné), and more!
New this year there will be live chef demonstrations and an option to attend virtually!
